For the 2024 Annual Report, the Smithsonian Institution focused on how it serves the nation far beyond the National Mall in Washington, DC. The book takes a closer look at four distinct places where the Smithsonian extends its reach and continues to do impactful work.

The challenge was to weave these seemingly disparate stories together through a cohesive visual throughline, shaping them into a unified essay. Throughout the book, larger-than-life imagery is juxtaposed with intricate details to reflect the breadth and depth of the Smithsonian’s presence across America.

My role in the project entailed concept development, editorial direction, photo research, and establishing the book’s visual language through thoughtful layout and typography.
