Black Hole Survival Guide
Part of a hypothetical brand called Surface Tension, this cover redesign attempts to capture the beauty of the universe through dark, overflowing typography. The orange dot in the center represents the blinding magnificence of dark holes.

Zine: A Room of One’s Own
This short-format zine, based on Virginia Woolf’s extended essay A Room of One’s Own, was an experiment in remixing analog and digital mediums and my foray into riso-printing.

A remix collage made in a workshop hosted by Somnath Bhatt and Silas Chen using crops from my earlier risograph collages.

Spot illustration for an article titled, Financial Bubles Are Hard To Pop (Bloomber Businessweek) based on the collage from the same workshop.

Green Apple Quick Step
A record cover redesign printed with Risograph. Green Apple Quick Step is an American rock band from Seattle, but the phrase itself is a slang for the act of racing to the bathroom when you have explosive diarrhea.

Motion Book Covers
Illustrated and animated these motion book covers as part of a class assignemnt taught by Sean Dong. I focused on using different effects and techniques in After Effects.

Senator Revival Calendar
The Senator Theatre is one of Baltimore's oldest and most visited cinema halls that does revival screenings of old movies. The brief was to design a calendar for its winter revival screenings to be printed in Risograph using a maximum of three colors.

Since it's not just a calendar but also a poster, the objective was to make it eye-catching. With the interplay of type, halftone images, bright riso colors, and shapes, the calendar looks pop and brings out the charm of old movies.

Kawaii-or-Die
A set of posters and merch designed through the point of view of an alter ego—a cult leader obsessed with Japan's cute culture. The typography reminisces the nostalgia of arcade games and Hello Kitty. The colors, characters, and patterns are inspired by the Kawaii visual culture.

The visual language is reminiscent of Kawaii visual culture of arcade games, cute fashion, and Hello Kitty.
